CASA is a nonprofit program of court appointed
special advocates, incorporated under the acronym
for Children’s Individual Voices in Court, which
recruits and trains community volunteers to advocate
for abused and neglected children in the courts.
With CIVIC CASA, volunteers make a long-term
commitment to advocate for the best interests of the
children by making recommendations to the court, and
advocate for services to the children and family
with caseworkers with the state Department of Social
Services Division of Child Protection Services. For
more information about CIVIC CASA, contact Executive
Director Kent Huckins at (605) 945-0155.
